What is Coronavirus (COVID-19)?

Coronavirus is a severe and infectious respiratory disease that spreads person to person by way of respiratory droplets produced through sneezes and coughs. These droplets travel through the air and come in contact with those nearby. The three primary symptoms of COVID-19 include high fever, dry cough, and shortness of breath. If you believe that you have any of these symptoms or have come in close contact with a carrier, do not hesitate to call your primary care physician or nearest hospital for more information.

Unfortunately, there is no vaccine or cure currently available for Coronavirus; however, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) have a few prevention tips to help people protect themselves and their families. The CDC has recommended that, for the next eight weeks, events with 50 or more people should be canceled or postponed, while the White House task force dealing with the crisis has advised all on American soil to avoid gatherings of 10 or more people for the next few weeks. Additionally, loved ones of elderly individuals and those with compromised immune systems should take extra care and check in with them.
