Indoor Air Quality
Indoor air pollutants are a silent threat, often two to five times higher than outdoor pollutant levels. There is growing concern about the harmful effects of formaldehyde vapors, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCS), Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPS), and Heavy Metals. These harmful irritants are found in traditional solvent-based finishing materials.
Low Emitting Materials
When formaldehyde is present in the air at or above 0.1 ppm, acute health effects can occur including watery eyes, burning sensations in the eyes, nose and throat, nausea, coughing, chest tightness, wheezing, skin rashes, or even more severe ailments if neglected.
Corporate Responsibility
Partnerships with third-party GREEN accrediting organizations are critical. The Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) lends credibility and ensures accountability regarding a manufacturer's commitment to environmentally responsible forestry practices.
Green Credentials
Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC)
Executive Cabinetry is an FSC certified manufacturer. FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world's forests. Products carrying the FSC label are independently certified to assure consumers that they come from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic, and ecological needs of present and future generations. FSC certified companies are audited annually to ensure compliance. Executive Cabinetry FSC certification proves we comply with the highest social and environmental standards in the industry.
U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC)
Executive Cabinetry is a member of the national chapter of the USGBC and participates in local chapter activities. The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a non-profit organization committed to expanding sustainable building practices. USGBC is composed of more than 15,000 organizations from across the building industry that are working to advance structures that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live and work. USGBC administers the LEED certified structures and LEED accredited professionals program.
Environmental Stewardship Program (ESP)
Executive Cabinetry is a certified member of the Environmental Stewardship Program. The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) developed the ESP to encourage practices that benefit the environment and society. Certification is awarded on compliance in five categories: air quality, product resource management, environmental stewardship, and community relations. ESP requires companies to annually review their environmental program.
Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association
Executive Cabinetry is a member of the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association. Our cabinets have been tested and certified by the KCMA. KCMA sponsors the nationally-recognized voluntary testing and certification program for cabinets, ANSI/KCMA A161.1, Performance & Construction Standard for Kitchen and Vanity Cabinets, which is references by U.S. government agencies, architects, builders, remodelers, and other specifiers. Cabinets that comply and bear the KCMA certification seal are recognized in the marketplace as a quality product, able to pass a rigorous battery of tests simulating years of household use.
